Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Why is West Park Foundation amalgamating with UHN Foundation?
West Park Health Care Centre joined UHN on April 1, 2024. Amalgamating the two foundations is the final step to fully bringing WP fully into the UHN family.
There was an extensive due diligence process to evaluate the feasibility and impact of this amalgamation.
This amalgamation will enable our communities of current and future supporters to choose to make an even bigger impact on rehabilitation research, education and care at UHN.
When is the amalgamation effective?
The amalgamation is effective on April 1, 2026.
What will our charitable number be?
UHN Foundation will continue using its charitable number (12386 4068 RR0001).
West Park Foundation’s charitable number (11929 5350 RR0001) will no longer be valid as of April 1, 2026.
The structure of the amalgamation maintains a connection with the previous legal entities of West Park Foundation, allowing UHN Foundation to accept gifts, bequests or pledges made to West Park Foundation previous foundation while maintaining CRA compliance.
After April 1, 2026, all gifts will be receipted under UHN Foundation (12386 4068 RR0001).
I signed a gift agreement prior to April 1, 2026 and still have pledge payments. How does this impact my gift?

Receipts for all gifts received after March 31, 2026 will be issued by UHN Foundation, even if the gift agreement was executed with West Park Foundation.
I made a designated gift through West Park Foundation. Does this change affect where my gift will go?
