The 2024 Culinary Showdown was a succulent success!
The 2nd Annual Culinary Showdown on Saturday was a smashing success, raising over $528,000 in support of UHN’s West Park Healthcare Centre.
Chef Antonio Park and his team were named Culinary Showdown Champions, but faced fierce competition from teams Claudio Aprile, Nicole Gomes, Alvin Leung, and Mark McEwan, as they prepared three courses – appetizer, main course and dessert – for the judges. With mystery ingredients and limited time, the chefs put on quite the show!
Former West Park patient Patty De Guia spoke movingly about her incredible story of perseverance in the face of daunting health issues. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after Patty’s speech, in which she credited West Park with helping get her to where she is today. Please check out the CTV Toronto News report about Patty.
